Behavior Consulting
My Behavior Consulting work involves an intimate understanding of your animal’s natural and individual history. Your pet has plenty of potential to learn and understand commands, and my techniques will lay the foundation for you to build upon. I combine your needs and wants with the natural attributes of your pet.
In Home Training
Dog Walking is my most popular service, which I’ve been developing and perfecting since I started Obedient Shepherds in 2000. I work closely with each one of my clients and their animals to implement my proven problem solving process. I know you have a busy schedule, so I will customize a plan that suits your lifestyle.
Board and train
If your animal needs help with a specific physical or behavioral issue, Boarding with Obedient Shepherds may be a great option for you. Sessions can be done at my home with personalized plans to fit your pet’s needs and your lifestyle. When we board and train we do one pup at a time. Your pup will be socialized at Petco, Lowes, Home Depot, Petsmart and tractor supply so he or she will learn how to act in public.You will get videos, pictures and routine video calls to keep you and your family up to date on your pups daily progress. Your pup will be a member of our family.
Day Training

Shadow Program
We offer a shadow program that runs 7 days. You can either do them back to back or do one day a week, for five weeks.
Andre will meet you at your level, and teach you the ins and outs, of dog training. This a hands-on program. Not only will you train your dog, you will also work with my personal dogs
You will handle dogs in various stages of training, from beginning to advanced.
This program is about you and learning to be the pack leader. During our time together, we will work on leadership, communication, and personal development. The training doesn't stop there. You can text us anytime with questions or concerns.

I got Story as a puppy but quickly found myself with a dog I could not control as she grew. She is strong, smart, and stubborn. Before training with Obedient Shepard’s, she followed commands sit and stay if I had her full attention but I quickly lost control if food, animals, or visitors were around. Within one day of training with the boarding option I could see a huge difference in Story. By the end of two weeks I have the dog I dreamed of having when I got her as a puppy. Andre spent time sending videos during training so I could see progress and clarify problem areas, and then trained me extensively upon her return. He even came back out to give me a little more training and helped me identify how to better handle her. The price of the training was affordable and reasonable and the benefit of the training is invaluable! Before training I had a wild beast and after I have a well behaved, walkable, command following sweetheart. Thank you Andre!
I called Obedient Shepherds about my boxer puppy, and was amazed by the willingness and personality I was greeted with. Our puppy was very disobedient, and with a baby coming soon we were worried about how she would be around small children, so I turned to Obedient Shepherds with this issue.
I was stunned by the overall change in behavior of my dog, and how attentive she had become. The simple commands taught to her has made her a much more trustworthy and loyal member of our family. The word "satisfied" does not begin to explain how grateful we are for this training program. We now have a very smart, loving dog that listens well, and is great with anyone. Andre and his wife Amy did such an amazing job! He was really helpful and I appreciate that he came all the way from his home all the way to a small town in Iowa. Sheba was lovable a puppy but she was also difficult to handle. She had no boundaries, no confidence in herself, and she struggled with anxiety. After two weeks with Andre we began to see a brand new dog. She is calmer now, she has a new respect for boundaries, and her self confidence has boosted tremendously. After Sheba returned home she attempted to return back to her old way of having no boundaries when food was present. I texted Andre and he came to our house the same day to help us correct this issue. Andre is very affordable and does a great job communicating and documenting the entire training process. We would definitely recommend him to others!
Cookie is a farm dog that needed some guidance and some obedience. She did fantastic on our 2 week program. She’s not biting, jumping on cars anymore. Great job Cookie!
Frankie went on our 2 week board and train and did great! His owner asked that we implement some manners due to the fact that he would jump all over her grandkids and steal food from the counters, jumping on the couch. After the 2 weeks when Frankie came home we went over some of the bad behavior that the owner asked us to address. Both the owner and I along with Frankie went over all of the issues and Frankie passed with flying colors! Hes not jumping all over the grandkids, not jumping on the couch, not getting food from the counters anymore. Great Job Frankie!!!!!
Buddy did great!... his owners asked that we work on his hyper ness and his jumping and chewing and digging in the yard. They went with the basic obedience package which included the behavioral option. Buddy did fantastic!.. he went from running around the house and jumping and chewing things up to walking great on the leash and doing simple obedience commands. After the two weeks I then went to there hometown and met them at a park and went over all the commands and they were elated of the progress he made. We are so proud of him!... great job buddy!!!!
Andre is just the best. He brings a dog into my Petco Almost every day. I’ve seen him take dogs that are struggling to allow people anywhere near them, and he comes back the next day and they’re loving all over us. Andre is the best local behavior specialist for dogs in the west TN area. I’ve had multiple trainers try to get me to give them business when we can’t train a dog in our store and I’ve never actually trusted any of them because you never see them. This man is in our store putting in the work with dogs Every. Single. Day. He’s even helped train my dog with issues that I as a trainer thought I could handle, but couldn’t. He was able to get me where I needed to be very quickly.
It’s clear that Andre is in this for the love of animals. His rates are fair and he leaves every client ecstatic. He is not a breedist either. Pit bulls, Rottweilers, and Dobermans, or dachshunds, Chihuahuas, Jack Russells, he does it all!!!
Before we met Andre and Amy, Egypt she was a wild spirit. You could tell her to come to you and she would just run wild. She wanted to do what Egypt wanted to do. Don't get me wrong she has always been a good dog. So loving and she is amazing with children. She just needed a little push to realize that even when we told her to do something we were doing it for her. We would walk her and it's like she was walking us. She was in control. When we would go somewhere in the car we would have to force her to get in. We would have to pick her up and put her in because if not she wasn't getting in. Now since her training we walk her! She doesn't fight us with it. She goes on command and stops on command. We get in the car and she jumps in when we tell her to. She wants to be with us now. Before it's like she was nervous. She walks beside us at the house. We love on her and she lets us. We always tell her how beautiful she is and that she is a good girl. It's crazy how much her tail wags now like she's so happy when before she would tuck her tail down and shake. I'm not sure what they did but it's a miracle. I guess you could say he's a dog whisperer. He was amazing with her and I am so thankful that we found him to help not only Egypt but ourselves. She has always been a part of the family but it's like now WE are truly her family. We are excited for this new adventure with her and we can't wait for further adventures with her to see how not only does she grow but how she makes our family grow together. She isn't just a dog for us she is our daughter. A sister to my children. Thank you Andre and Amy for everything.
Sadee and Josee are two amazingly sweet pit bulls. The owners ask that i look into some behavioral issues and to address them. They would have a hard time walking them in the park and would pull and jump and want to chase squirrels. After our two week program the owners are so delighted and have said that they are walking fantastic on the leash and when they had a situation come up with another dog both Sadee and Josee listened and obeyed the owners!..Great job girls!!!!
Bella has done phenomenal in her training!!!... her drive is out if this world!!
Daisy’s owners asked that we teach her basic manners and she did fantastic with our 2 week program. She now isn’t jumping on them, barking, staying in place, walking great on a leash and her owners are loving the new Daisy!Great job Daisy!!!!....
Presley did fantastic!!!.. The owners asked that we work with her on walking on a leash on their side and to stop pulling. Well we just got word that Presley is now running with them on their jogs and not jumping anymore!!.. The owners are now thrilled that they can take her places, walk her, run with her and all the above. Great Job Presley!!!!!
Sugar did fantastic on our 2 week program, we are currently getting her serviced trained!. She and her owners are doing great!!
Can’t Thank Amy and Andre enough, for helping get my family back on track after our big move ! Walks became horrible , barking all the time, fighting , jumping on counters and guest , they had took over .Our house became complete chaos!
Goliath and Bailey are our worlds , can’t imagine a day without my fur babies. Too spoiled , over protective is what we started dealing with after our move here to TN.. Goliath wanted no part of anyone around his people including Bailey , Bailey having a huge ego wasn’t letting him steal her shine. So Mom and Dad called for help. I was so impressed with our first visit and how right away the fur babies listened and obeyed . My fur babies wasn’t happy about having to listen but Andre had made a impact they felt very comfortable with him ,we all did.We took all the information given to us and watched Andre teach all of us with our fur babies over the few weeks and we can say our home is a completely 360!!! I tease , its like calling the principal ,no one wants that ! Amy and Andre really are a great team , I can see the love and enjoyment they have doing this, we were very blessed to work with a incredible company!!
Andre is awesome! He helped us gain the tools and foundation to continue training our hyper active dogs even after the final training session! He's still checks on how they are doing, as is available for questions and tips almost 24/7!
Andre of Obedient Shepherds has been fantastic in helping to train our dog. He doesn't bolt out the door now when he hears the doorbell or when someone comes in or goes out. My grandson has chased him through the neighborhood many times! He walks on a leash now; before he pulled so much that walking was not possible. It's obvious Andre loves dogs and his methods of training are not hurtful. He is patient and teaches the owner as well as the dog!
Jeremy, Andre is a huge blessing to our little family. I’ve always wanted an English Bulldog. When I finally got one he grew to be out of control. My wife nor I could do anything with him. One call to Andre made all the difference. He is so patient and kind to these animals. I call him the “Dog Whisperer”. My Bully loves him to death and still to this day Andre checks in on him and even visits just to ensure what he taught him is still in place and practice. Our home is is peaceful again due to Andre and his wife Amy! I cannot thank him enough!!!
Amanda, I had given the Hubby the ultimatum… either me or the dog!!! Luckily we are both still here lol- Andre at Obedient Shepherds did much more than just help us with Jaxx, he actually helped our marriage!! Jaxx our beautiful wild child-English Bulldog- who we got at 6 weeks old rapidly grew into a huge argument between myself and my hubby. Jaxx would jump on me constantly and leave blood drawn scratch marks down my legs. He would run the opposite direction if I called him. He would terrorize his fur brother. He was just all in all- a nightmare lol. Andre spent approximately 2 weeks worth of retraining Jaxx’s bad habits. He never once hit my baby or withheld food or was mean to him. In fact it was right the opposite- Jaxx LOVES his Andre!!! He came home a completely different baby. He gets so happy when he does good now. I give Andre 100% star rating. Its absolutely no one else id trust as much as we do with him. We know he sets the ground rules and discipline and boundaries. Our marriage is much better with discussions now of how proud of Jaxx we are. Thanks a bunch Obedient Shepherds!!!!
Our granddaughter has a six month old Australian Shepherd, Kodak. He is very high energy combined with normal puppy curiosity. In other words, he is a handful. We were experiencing problems with constant barking; being destructive and several other bad behaviors. We were at the point of questioning whether or not Kodak could become a good, obedient family pet, or if we could even survive the process.
We began looking into dog trainers in our area and we were very fortunate to find Obedient Shepherds during a Google search. We were even more pleased to have Andre come into our home one Sunday afternoon to meet with us and Kodak. Andre walked in a stranger and immediately made a connection with Kodak. We were amazed at the control Andre displayed when handling our unruly puppy. I have referred to Andre as the "dog whisperer".
We have since had two training sessions where Andre has taken Kodak for a couple of hours to various dog friendly places in town. He began teaching him the walk which seems to be at the heart of good behavior and discipline. Andre has also been teaching our granddaughter and us the proper way to walk Kodak as well as how to react to any of his bad behaviors. He has been most helpful in advising us on the proper training collar and how to use it to gain better control. Also, how to use the lead properly. Andre continues to make himself available to answer any of our questions or concerns. He goes out of his way to keep in touch with us about Kodak's progress, or lapses in said progress. Andre truly lives his job in providing the best possible training for whatever is necessary for the good of the dog, as well as the good of the owner.
In just a short two weeks we have seen a remarked change in Kodak. He is walking without pulling and stops when we stop. We are making strides in correcting bad behaviors with Andre's expertise. It, of course, is a work in progress. However, Andre has given us the tools to help us in making Kodak the best, obedient dog we know he wants to be and we are determined to help Kodak be that dog.
I would like to give a shout out to Andre of Obedient Shepherds dog training. This guy is amazing! He’s been working with our pup and I can’t brag on him enough. This guy enjoys working with dogs & is a knowledgeable, respectful trainer/handler. He’s trained service dogs for years & knows what he is doing. Very reasonable fees also. Miles and Toby were best friends until we added a puppy to the mix. Aggression toward each other started and we didn’t know where to start. Enter Obedient Shepherds. We live in Central Arkansas so we made a weekend trip to Jackson. Andre worked with our boys for 2 days. He was in communication with us throughout the training. He showed us how to reestablish dominance in our household. There has definitely been a shift in all of our thinking. Obedient Shepherds can help your family too :)
I am only one day out from the three week training for my shelter dog (a 50% beagle, 25% American Staffordshire Terrier and the rest ? — but he is built like an Am Staff and was a biter). My dog bit for random reasons especially bone aggression but was not averse to biting neighbors when we stopped to visit while on a walk. The main thing that I have learned is that the training and changes need to come from BOTH the dog and the owner. We were not interacting properly. I was not training him properly (I was giving him way too much authority and autonomy.) Andre taught him good dog behavior but also he taught him how an owner should behave. He has only been home a day but I am steadfastly maintaining our new relationship that Andre showed me and Walle is much calmer and better adjusted now that he understands his role. Andre is a great trainer and teacher!! My dog and I have miles to go, but luckily he makes himself extremely available!!!
Absolutely love Andre and Amy! Prompt response and worked wonders with my hyperactive 2 year old lab. Very loving with my fur baby! Great price for board and training. I did my research and they are great! Helped me correct bad behaviors and taught me how to do the same would definitely recommend and use them again!
Andre was AMAZING! He worked with my budget, he listened to all the problems we were having with our doberman puppy (jumping on people, terrible on the leash, etc) taught her so much, and updated me everyday via FaceTiming, texts and videos. One of the most caring knowledgable trainers I’ve met. Definitely worth the money and will be recommending many friends to him. He even told us we can FaceTime or text him anytime for future issues which is a wonderful guarantee!
Awesome experience! I just can't think of words to say how great it was to work with Andre and Amy. Q was a great dog 90% of the time, but that other 10% was a killer- He had some major aggression issues towards the neighbors, UPS man, our other dogs, and eventually, my husband and myself (still wearing that scar lol). The first night Andre came to our house, it took him almost 30 minutes to get in the front door- but he never gave up. With his knowledge, caring, and patience, he transformed Q into a totally different dog, and he gave us some pointers on what we were doing wrong as well. I would definitely use Obedient Shepherds again, and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs some help with a dogs behavioral issues. Five Stars for sure.
Absolutely loved the outcome of how my dog has acted after each session with André. He went from being a wild rambunctious husky, to chilled and laid back. He’s a very hard headed 4 month old but as André said he’s super smart. He caught on quickly and was a different dog each time. I have so enjoyed working with Obedient Shepard’s they have a care for animals that is beyond anything, We have been very grateful to have met Andre and his wife! We have a rescue dog about 21/2-3years old and with us he is sweet, does tricks and all. But, if someone drives by comes in our yard and he’s outside he wants to snap or bite them. We have learned that he is very dominant toward our home and us, so we have been working with him and he has showed a big improvement over about a month. We still have a ways to go but, thanks to Obedient Shepard’s we don’t have to put our dog down! Thanks for all y’all have done for us!

My dog’s name is Timon he is my baby, and I don’t trust him with anyone, but Andre completely changed my mind. Timon has an aggressive side to him, anxiety, and total fear of the world. He had a very bad past of abuse. Andre was incredibly patient with him. Timon still has a lot to learn, but he has done a complete 180 because of Andre. I learned so much from him, he was always willing to work with me. He texted me daily to check in on how we were doing. You can tell he really does care for all of the dogs and families he works with! I would recommend Obedient Shepherds to anyone who wants there dog to be well taken care of and loved.
I cannot say enough about Andre and Obedient Shepherds. We contacted them when we got our puppy. He came to our home and came up with a training plan. He worked with us so we could continue working with Mischa. He was amazing. He did not disappoint!! We could not believe what he accomplished in a short period of time.
